   Mission statement

The Salvation Army, founded in London in 1865, is an international religious and social welfare movement, and is a branch of the mainstream Christian Church.

The motivation of the organisation is the love of God, and a practical, caring concern for people in need, regardless of race, creed, gender or age.

Its objective is the physical, moral and spiritual regeneration of the people it serves through the provision of basic human necessities, counselling, living and preaching the Christian gospel.
