March 2003 saw the first Farmers' Market held on Hadleigh Home Farm. Now one of the busiest Farmers Markets in Essex, we have built up a good reputation with both traders and customers. We are a certified Farmers' Market recognised by FARMA the governing body for farmers markets across the United Kingdom. This means that our market has local farmers, growers and food businesses selling their own produce directly to the customer.
We can boast over twenty regular stallholders, with a number of ‘guest’ stallholders also available. We have a variety of stalls, selling an extensive selection of produce, including home made cakes, free range eggs, local honey, different cheeses, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, herbs, plants, preserves, smoked fish, home made gourmet pies, sausages, charcoal and some craft stalls.

Meat on offer includes rare breed pork such as ‘old Spot’ and The Salvation Army Home Farm also sells its organically reared beef at the market. We also have poultry, pheasant, hare and rabbit. The Training Centre’s horticulture department also have a stall that sells both plants produce that they grow. This stall is manned by the department itself which helps the trainees develop their interpersonal skills.
The farmers' market starts at 12 noon and is held monthly on the second Wednesday of each month, except January, in a barn on Home Farm overlooking idyllic views of the Thames estuary.
