This is our newest department, created in August 2007 in response to the ever-expanding Rare Breeds Centre located on the farm adjacent to the Training Centre.

 The Departments work is very much a hands-on experience for the trainees on how the animals on the farm are cleaned and cared for.  For this the department needs to work closely with the Farm manager’s team who operate the rare breed centre.

The department cleans the pens for all the animals, changing the hay and feed in the goat’s pens, changing and caring for the rabbits, clearing the chicken and turkey hutches, mucking out the pigsties and everything in between.
